7 States of Passion is a visual concert where seven songs together from the starting point for a suggestive, fragile tale. Lisa Nordström moves over a floor of mirrors inside a small greenhouse. Behind this thin layer of glass, she is protected and exposed simultaneously in her exploration of bitter-sweet stages such as the will that aproaching another person involves. She gives life to a world of her own with the help of electronic instruments, voice, cither, bass flute and film.
Lisa Nordström is a musician and composer, working in the area of improvisation, composition and sampling. Her music is a mix of voice, electronics and acoustic instruments. The music is often made out of recorded improvisations that are processed into songs in her studio.
Lisa is a also member of electronica duo Midaircondo and runs the studio/gallery/stage REX Studio in Göteborg, Sweden. She tours frequently worldwide with Midaircondo and has composed music for dance, theatre, film and tv.
In her solo work, Lisa explores how to perform her music live and create more visual concerts by using stories, video and scenography. Together with Kajsa Nordström they form the duo IAMSOAREYOU, who created the visual expression in 7 States of Passion.
The music for 7 States of Passion is also being released on the Swedish label Kning Disk in october 2008. The album has it’s pre-release on the premiere of the performance at Göteborg Dans och Teaterfestival 2008.
