Joe Borreson While this album starts with an almost minimal Spanish guitar flair, it gives way to a unique sound with flutes and vibes, while guitar and horns create a fuller sound on later pieces. Track 3 sets a theme and once you're half way through the album, a story slowly evolves and the soundtrack of memories to a rural village unfolds and a genuine nordic jazz vibe carries you sweetly on your way. Probably one of my most played Bandcamp discoveries the from the past few years by two exquisite Swedish guitarists/composers, collaborating on this album inspired by nature, silence, and the Swedish lake island it was recorded on and named after. There is more space & quiet in this album then actual music. But what's there has a delicate warmth and dreaminess that's gorgeous & melancholy. Music for early mornings, or quiet contemplation of this øy, (Island) and it's calming magic. Joe Borreson
